Smooth is not a flavor.
The water is Smooth.
Vodka is usually 40 percent ABV and 60 percent water. The water quality is as important as the base ingredient quality in terms of impact on the flavor outcome.
Using anything less than pristine flavor-neutral water will adversely and significantly affect the vodka’s taste and smoothness.
Volcanic Mountain water
The Faroe Islands are a cluster of 18 volcanic islands found halfway between Norway and Iceland.
We found nature’s purest water buried 1.5km deep within the Kirvi volcanic mountain range between the villages of Lopra and Sumba.
Since its discovery when tunneling through the mountains in 1988, the locals have loved the water. The water is naturally sourced and is channeled to the plant by gravity. It is a simple, sustainable process that makes our water environment friendly.
When producing noble alcohol, the importance of water cannot be underestimated; it is crucial for its quality.

12 layers of 55 million-year-old basalt
In the geological structure of the Kirvi volcanic mountain where the water is sourced, there are 12 layers of 55 million-year-old basalt. These volcanic rocks are rich in minerals and electrolytes. So naturally, filtering through these 12 layers of basalt adds minerals, creating a smooth mouthfeel and a hint of sweetness to the water.
With a pH value of 8.3 our water is Naturally Alkaline, which adds to the softness of our vodka.
